Ekta Kapoor in Malini Ramani

Ekta Kapoor attended a Wedding Sangeet wearing a Black and Pink Malini Ramani Maxi, from her latest Spring Summer Collection 2012.

I fail to understand that why a woman, who is one of the most powerful Celebrity in Indian TV Industry, would make such Fashion Choices?

Is it so hard to hire a Stylist?  Utter Disaster!!

Neha Dhupia in Wendell Rodricks

The gorgeous, Neha Dhupia, was spotted wearing a White Wendell Rodricks dress, at a promotional event of her next release, 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala'.

The Dress is from Wendell's Spring Summer 2012 Collection. And its a Simple White Dress with a V-Neckline and a voluminous skirt, with a thin Blue Belt.

Neha added on a Blue beaded Necklace to complete the look.

The Look is great for a Day event, But I wish she had opted for a better pair of shoes. These ones look tacky.

Nargis Fakhri in Monisha Jaisingh

Nargis Fakhri was spotted at a recent event, wearing a Yellow Monisha Jaisingh gown.

It’s an off shoulder gown, with an embellished detailing at the neck.

The color looks great on Nargis, But I wish she had gone for an Up-do or a Pulled back look, so that the detailing was clearly visible.

P.S. This gown features on the Monisha Jaisingh’s Print ad. Spotted it in the new Vogue Issue.

Suzanne Roshan in Herve Leger

It was a Mustard Yellow Herve Leger Bandage dress for Suzanne at Arjun’s Birthday Bash.

She complimented the yellow with a contrasting Green Clutch.

Silver peep toes completed her look.

Kangana Ranaut in Stella McCartney

Kangana Ranaut attended Arjun Rampal’s Birthday Bash last night wearing a Stella McCartney Jumpsuit. Its a simple Black Jumpsuit with Half Sleeves and a plunging V-Neckline.

Kangana kept the look simple and sccessorrised it with Pointy Silver Pumps and a Spiked Bracelet.

I think she looks Great!

Best Dressed of the Week!

The contenders for this week are :

1. Deepika Padukone: For a special screening for her latest release, Deepika opted for Gold sequined Top and paired it up with a Black fitted skirt. She kept the whole look simple, as always, with no accessories. Pulled back hair and Jimmy Choo glitter peep toes completed her look.

2. Sonam Kapoor: Sonam opted for a simple White shirt and Black pants while attending a film's screening. I love the whole Casual-Chic vibe of the look. A Chanel bag and Pointy Pumps completed the look. Perfect for the event.

3. Rhea Kapoor: Rhea accompanied her sister to the screening wearing a Simple shirt and Black pants. Love the fact that she added on a Blazer. A necklace and Brogues completed her look.

4. Kangana Ranaut: Kangana graced a Sunglasses' Launch event wearing a Zara Tulip dress. I think this is the best she has looked in recent times. A Louis Vuitton Mini Bag and Louis Vuitton Patent Black Pumps with bow details completed the look.

5. Gauri Khan: Gauri stands tall as the only one on my list wearing an Indian attire. She looked Beautiful wearing a Green/Blue Manish Malhotra Saree at a wedding Reception.

6. Nargis Fakhri: It was a Black and White Zara top and Black fitted skirt for Nargis at a Car launch event. The look is simple yet eye catchy. Pulled Back hair and Black peep toe heels completed the look.

So, who is your favorite this week?

ROCKSTAR - My Review

So at last, I did manage to catch a show of Rockstar. I know it’s late, But blame my exams for the delay.
I read somewhere that the best way to review a film is to go in with an empty mind, free of bias. With all the people around me telling the good as well as the bad things about the film, it was hard to not go in with preconceived notions.
Five minutes into the film, and I did not care about what people told me about the film. From there on, I camouflaged into a simple guy who is super passionate about films and wants to have a great experience in those three hours. And I was not disappointed. (Well, not completely: P)

Story:
Now about the film, Rockstar is primarily a love story between Jordan and Heer. Yes, it is more of a love story and less about the rise and fall of a Rockstar (as the name suggests).
So, Janardhan Jakkar aka Jordan (played by Ranbir Kapoor) is a simple guy from a lower middle class family with dreams of making it big as a Rockstar. He is unable to do so because his art lacks inspiration.
“Toote Dil se hi Sangeet nikalta hai”, this is the dialogue which sets the whole mood of the film.
Jordan, who is hell bent on getting his heart broken, proposes Heer Kaul (played by Nargis Fakhri) saying, “Meri girlfriend ban ja, Dono milke rock kar denge.” Heer, being the ‘IT’ girl of the Delhi University Campus, obviously tells him to “Bugger Off”.
Eventually, they do become friends and do crazy stuff like going to a sleazy cinema hall to watch a C-grade film called ‘Junglee Jawani’ or having Desi Daaru.
Heer marries a rich guy and shifts to Prague, leaving Jordan heartbroken.
Here, Jordan becomes this huge star, but only after going through his fair share of struggle. All this glamour and stardom is meaningless, if you don’t have that special one to share it with. And Jordan’s heart feels the same. His angst is quite visible in his behavior.
Jordan and Heer, rekindle their romance in Prague, and drift apart after a short lived affair. Will they meet again? Will they live happily ever after? That makes up for the second half of the film. And I won’t play a spoiler by telling you the rest of the story.

Cast:
Ranbir, as Jordan, is BRILLIANT. He owns every frame of the film and I cannot imagine anyone else but him for this part. He proves that he takes his craft seriously and is here to do some serious work rather than churn crores by doing mindless masala entertainers. He is the SOUL of the film.
On the contrary, Nargis fails to impress me at all. No doubt, that she is beyond Beautiful and has amazing screen presence, but she can NOT act. She struggles to get her dialogues right and her expressions look forced. Her voice is dubbed for the film and you can totally make that out.
Aditi, as the journalist, is okay. Her character is not well etched out and so she looks lost throughout the film.
Shammi Kapoor Ji, in a brief cameo, is a delight to watch.
Direction:
Imitiaz is a FAB Director but he totally out shines himself with Rockstar. He has his own way of telling stories which is quite endearing. Also, the romance in his films is very tender. It takes just a hug between the lead pair to convey their love for each other, which I think is quite commendable.
The major flaw of the film is in its narrative. It is very abrupt at points which might cause a lot of people to lose interest in the film halfway through.
Crisp editing would have taken the film to a whole new level. The end of the film is Bizarre too. The whole pace of the film is slow and then suddenly the lights go on and the film comes to an end.
Music:
Music, by A.R. Rahman, is beyond words. The songs are brilliantly written, as well. Vocals by Mohit Chauhan are first rate. The songs are beautifully embedded into the screenplay. Special mention to ‘Kun Faaya Kun’ and ‘Nadaan Parinde’. They gave me goose flesh.
Styling:
My review would be incomplete without talking about the styling of the the lead actors. Aki Narula does a fabulous job as Ranbir’s stylist. As the goofy yet charming Janardhan, Ranbir is seen wearing full sleeves shirts with hand knitted sweaters and Denim Jackets. For Jordan, the Rockstar, it is all about Dhoti Pants and stylish Military Jackets with a Topi(Hat).
Nargis plays a Kashmiri Girl in the film, so Manish Malhotra, skillfully incorporates  a lot of Kashmiri embroidery in her outfits. Gorgeous!
Verdict:
Well, the film does have its flaws (everyfilm does), I would still recommend you to watch it, atleast for Ranbir.
It is not your regular Bollywood film. If Masala Entertainers is what you feed upon, then stay away from this film.
Till then, ‘Sadda haq, Aithey Rakh’ all the way!!!

Saree Style: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha, attended Boman Irani's Son's Wedding Reception, wearing a White Saree teamed up with a heavily embroidered Black and Gold Blouse.

The Saree too had black and Gold accents as the border, matching with the blouse.

Sonakshi looks great here, but the drape of the Saree is killing the look for me. It is adding extra volume to her figure. I guess its because of the fabric.

She kept the look completely accessory free.

Ladies in Black - Sonakshi, Sophie & Chitrangda

Sonakshi Sinha attended the Airtel Superstar Awards wearing a Anita Dongre outfit.
Dressed in black, Sonakshi looks good. But, personally, I'm not fond of actresses wearing such outfits at Red Carpet Events (especially Award Ceremonies)
I love short dresses with long sleeves, But, Sophie's black number fails to excite me. An updo, Bottega Veneta Knot clutch and Black Christian Louboutin pumps completed her look.
For the same event, Chitrangda opted for a sparkly Black full length dress. Metallic clutch and shiny earrings completed her look. Too much sparkle? Eh?
Who do you like the most amongst these three?

Sonam Kapoor in Stella McCartney

For a Recent event, sonam opted for a Spot applique white Stella McCartney dress.

I love the dress and Sonam carries it off well. The length especially, looks great on her.

Grey shoes and a matching Grey bag completed the look.

Sonam's version of the dress is slightly different from the runway version. The runway version had a sheer top unlike Sonam's which was lined.

Vidya Balan in Sabyasachi!

Vidya Balan is busy these days promoting her next release 'The Dirty Picture'.

For a recent event, Vidya opted for a multi print Sabyasachi Saree.

While I like the whole idea of mixing completely different prints in a Saree, I'm not liking this Sabya creation as much as I want it to.
But Vidya does look good.

Bipasha Basu at a Race Event!

Bipasha Basu graced a Race Event wearing a Beautiful Orange dress which looked great on her dusky complexion.

The dress had little embellishments at the sides of the neckline.

Hair in a side messy bun, oversized shades and nude heels completed the look.

The look is perfect for a day event, but I wished that the dress was tailored a little more skillfully.

The Kapoor Divas: Karisma and Sonam

Karisma kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, walked in together at the Hello! Hall of fame Awards, last night.

My jaw literally dropped when I saw Karisma at the event (its still lying somewhere on the floor :P). She opted for a simple black dress which fitted her immaculately. Pulled back hair drew all the attention to her glowing face.
A black clutch and Peep toe Louboutines completed her look. Flawless.

Sonam, on the other hand, opted for a Mustard Yellow Gucci gown. I like the gown and the fact that she opted for an updo to make the detailing at the neck clearly visible.

Both the ladies looked lovely. But, I just cannot take my eyes off Karisma!

P.s. Karisma won the 'Most Stylish Woman of the year' Award and Sonam won the 'Face of the year' Award.

Mother-Daughter duo : Dimple and Twinkle

Mother-daughter duo, Dimple Kapadia and Twinkle Khanna, were also present at the Abu-sandeep's 25th Anniversary Party.

Like Aishwarya, these two gorgeous ladies too opted for creations by the Designer duo.

Dimple looked stunning as usual, in her cream Salwar kameez, which had thin Gold and Silver stripes all over the Kameez and the Dupatta.

Daughter twinkle complimented her Mom by wearing a Cream Saree herself, with sequins detailing all over and a matching border.
Twinkle completed her look with big earrings and a Green Bottega Veneta knot clutch.

Both of them looked great!

Whose look do you prefer more?

In Black and Gold : Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

At Designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's 25th Anniversary
Party, Aishwarya Rai came along with husband, Abhishek Bachchan, to show their support and love for the designer duo, by wearing their creation.

The Pregnant actress, looked great in her Black and Gold Suit. The kurta with all that exquisite Gold detailing all over, could have looked overwhelming on her but Aish totally makes it work.

Traditional Jootis completed the look.

P.S. Those Glasses are so not working on Abhishek.

Sonam Kapoor Handcuffed

Sonam Kapoor is a true fashionista. And she stays true to this tag everytime; even if It means shelling out a handsome amount from her hard earned money.

The actress was recently spotted carrying a Louis Vuitton Handcuff bag at the F1 Lounge in Delhi.

Its an interesting bag with a Handcuff attached to the bag by a chain.

The bag costs around a whopping 15000 US $.

P.s. Angelina Jolie was also photographed carrying the same bag at a Red carpet event, a few months ago.

You like?

Desi Girlz - Deepika Padukone or Chitrangda Singh

At the music launch of their upcoming film 'Desi Boyz', both Deepika and Chitrangda opted for body hugging short dresses.

Chitrangda looked great in her one shoulder little black number, which had white detailing at the bust. Wavy hair and peep toes completed the look.

Deepika showed off her sexy legs in a Blue dress and completed her look with shimmery Golden shoes.

I'm digging Chitrangda's look more. I wish Deepika had accessorised her look better. What say?

Vision in White : Bipasha Basu

Billo Rani too was in attendance at the Bombay Times Party.

The dusky actress opted for a simple White dress.

Accessorising the look with a bright turquoise Blue clutch provided the much needed color. The headgear was an interesting way to complete the look. And not to forget that perfect arm candy (Read: Rana Daggubati :P)

P.S. Will upload clearer pics soon :)

All that Shines is Gold : Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor attended the Bombay Times Party last night wearing a Roberto Cavalli couture dress.

I like the dress but I don't like the look as a whole (Styled by Rhea Kapoor)

The dress itself was so striking, that the vintage hairdo and those dark lips made the look feel over the top.

Strappy Gold shoes and a black bag completed the look.

A rare mis-step by the Style Diva.

Madhuri Dixit : In Black and In White

Madhuri Dixit is back in India and is already making her presence felt.

The gorgeous actress attended a promotional event a few days ago for a product she endorses, wearing a LBD (Little Black Dress). Not a fan of the dress or the shoes, but its so refreshing to see Madhuri in outfits other than those overwhelming anarkalis and sarees.

More recently, The Dhak Dhak girl graced the Bombay Times party wearing a White dress which had a black belt tied around the waist in a knot. I like the dress on her, but she again disappoints me with the choice of shoes.

In all, I'm really happy to see Madhuri change it up. Here's hoping to see her many more such avatars.

Which one Do you prefer : Black or White?

Damsel in Distress : Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has always been known for her effortless and simple sense of style.
But for a recent event, Anushka got it all wrong. Her attempt to carry off this casual chic look, fell flat.
I don't mind the top and the jacket, but don't like those rolled up distressed denims.
Also, the addition of the hat is interesting, but it kinda looks awkward on her.
What do you think of the look?

The Style Battle : Deepika Padukone Vs Sonam Kapoor

Since the time that they debuted together, on the same day with different films, Sonam and Deepika are often pitted against each other. So, here we are with a style battle between these two stunners.

Round 1 : Travelling in Style

Most of the celebs get it all wrong when they travel. But, Deepika and Sonam both believe in travelling in style. While returning from Delhi, Deepika was photographed wearing a simple white dress paired with silver kohlapuri chappals and a tote. Sonam opted for the classic white top and blue denims combo, which she accessorised with an oversized Chanel bag and brogues.

Round 2 : Doing sequins

At the F1 'after party' in Delhi, both the gorgeous actresses opted for sequined dresses. While Deepika showed off her never ending legs, wearing a short cream dress; Sonam flaunted her curves in a sequined black DvF maxi dress.
Deepika completed her look with neatly pulled back hair, nude peep toes and a box clutch. Sonam, on the other hand, chose to pair her maxi with strappy gold Jimmy choos and red lips.

Who wins for you? Stylish Sonam or Drop dead gorgeous Deepika?
